Worship Music Styles - 2006 survey review

By Steven K. - Posted on 30 March 2009

Back in 2006, the transition committee and the incumbent music facilitator (Debbie Fingas) conducted a survey of the congregation by presenting various music styles over six weeks. The results were reported to the worship committee and the JNAC (Joint Needs Action Committee).
"This review of music styles was part of the visioning process ... which is an important aspect of our worship".

"The results indicated that as a congregation there is a willingness to participate and/or listen to all or any of the styles that were selected as part of the process. There were varying degrees of acceptance of the styles and the frequency that they may be used. We are all encouraged to embrace some new and varied music styles as we seek to accommodate everyone's needs."
Details can be seen on page 9 of the August 2006 LINK newsletter.
I encourage everyone to review the survey results, as it is increasing relevant today, to everyone who is, or is considering becoming a part of our congregation and to those who want to make our worship service an uplifting and spirit filling experience for all who attend.
